The discount page

A question that people sometimes ask us is: discount.

Since the answer is always the same, we have decided to publish it on this page. Please read carefully to the end and only if you still have doubts after that, contact us for further clarification.

The discount

Most of our users understand the value of what we do and they know that the market price of similar products is much higher than we ask for; our retail prices are already too low and in fact the most honest customers even offer us a tip.

However there are other customers who always ask for a discount.

All customers are equally important

We think that all customers should be treated equally so we don't want either tips or discounts; we find it unfair for someone to pay more for the SAME product that someone else paid less.

If the product is the SAME everyone should pay it the same.

Discounted parts

Since we can not charge less for the SAME product that all the others have paid more, what we can do to meet the demand of those who ask to spend less is, other than advising to remove non-essential options from the order, to offer second choice parts.

Those who spend less will get less.

Discounted covers

In the specific case of the rotary valve covers, an example of discounted pieces could be a set consisting of covers coming from different manufacturing lots, which may have different color tones or the finish performed in a different way.

It's just an example; if you ask for a discount, we will check whether there are discounted pieces available and we will inform you about the reasons and the amount of the discount. The amount of the discount will naturally vary depending on case and will always be proportionate to what was offered to other customers according to an equity criterion.

The second hand market problem

We have been on the market for many years now and it is normal that over time our products will pass from hand to hand on the second hand market. It happens with all motorcycle parts and we know it also happens with ours.

There are, however, two problems that arise when the spare part that is being sold used was originally purchased at a discount and the buyer is not being informed about it:

  • the first is that it is clearly not correct to hide the reason for the discount received initially;
  • the second, related to the previous one, is that the buyer of the used part, not knowing that it's a discounted part, gets an incorrect perception of the quality of our work and this damages our public image.

The covers register

To overcome these problems, given that our recent production covers have a serial number and that we keep a record of the peculiarities of each cover sold, if somebody is purchasing our covers from a third party they can contact us and provide the serial numbers of the covers in question. If said covers were sold in 2020 or later, we will provide information on whether we consider those covers to be "perfect" or if there were reasons why those covers were sold at a discounted price.

Out of respect for privacy, we will NOT provide information such as: to whom we initially sold the covers, at what price or at what discount, and in any case we will not provide information for covers sold before 2020 i.e. before the publication of this announcement.

Conclusion

In conclusion, those who ask for a discount have to know that we will offer them discounted parts if available; that we will give them all the information about the technical reasons why these parts are offered at a discounted price, but also they have to keep in mind that if requested, the same information will be provided in an equally transparent way also to future owners to whom such parts will eventually be resold.
